About Us

The Del Cotto Family Foundation was established to carry forward a tradition of generosity, gratitude, and meaningful support rooted in the values of the Del Cotto family.
As a private foundation, the Foundation is intentional in its approach to giving and seeks to partner with nonprofit organizations that provide compassionate, holistic care and strengthen the communities they serve. The Foundation’s grantmaking reflects a commitment to dignity, stewardship, and thoughtful engagement rather than volume or scale.
Rooted in the Greater Pittsburgh region, the Foundation prioritizes organizations whose work demonstrates meaningful impact, responsible leadership, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission and focus areas.
Our Founding Values
The Foundation was inspired by the life and values of its founder, Armand L. Del Cotto, and his wife Geraldine and daughter Sandra. A first-generation Italian immigrant and United States military veteran, Mr. Del Cotto built a successful career through hard work, service, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
His belief in opportunity, dignity, and giving back to the community continues to shape the Foundation’s mission and its disciplined, thoughtful approach to philanthropy.
Our Approach
The Foundation’s approach to philanthropy is intentional, relationship-focused, and guided by trust and accountability. Rather than operating its own charitable programs, the Foundation supports qualified nonprofit partners whose work advances healing, resilience, whole-person well-being, and community strength.

Grantmaking decisions are made with care and discretion, recognizing both the responsibility and opportunity inherent in charitable giving.
Our Symbol
The Del Cotto Family Foundation logo reflects the values, legacy, and purpose that guide the Foundation’s work.
The circular design represents wholeness, continuity, and the enduring nature of family stewardship across generations. The gold path symbolizes life’s journey through challenge and renewal, expressing compassion, resilience, and hope. The teal eye element reflects vision, awareness, and care, while the white star honors service, integrity, and sacrifice.
Together, these elements embody the Foundation’s commitment to healing, dignity, and service with the objective of supporting individuals and communities with intention, respect, and lasting impact.
Governance and Stewardship
The Del Cotto Family Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s mission, policies, and grantmaking activities. The Board is committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and honoring the intent of the Foundation’s establishment.
All grant determinations are made at the sole discretion of the Board following a review process consistent with the Foundation’s mission and values.
Looking Ahead
As the Foundation evolves, it remains committed to thoughtful growth, continued learning, and responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to it. The Foundation may refine its priorities over time while remaining grounded in its core values and purpose.
